What to Expect During Your Bridal Makeup Trial

Advice To Consider When Selecting A Makeup Artist: Ladies...this can be tough! My best advice to you is that, "you get what you pay for", and that experience is key. Over the years I have had countess clients come to me in last minute panics because they were unhappy with previous makeup applications. I would say that a solid, 9 out of 10 times (usually the client being a bride) has taken that "free trial", or low cost trial. There is a reason for this, they are generally beginner makeup artists, some with great talent, or potential, but in general not ideal for your wedding day, or photos. This can turn out to be less cost effective taking up your valuable time. Professional Makeup Artists generally charge within the same price range, and provide you with the best 'tricks of the trade' to help you look your very best on you special day!

A Note to Bride- Please do not be discouraged if your do not see your makeup style, taste or design on my website. Being an experienced and professional Makeup Artist I can create any look you would like, and with great success.  Your wedding day makeup will look fresh, and never washed out, and we will achieve the look you desire such as, natural, romantic, or exotic. I tailor every makeup application to the person sitting before me. (I encourage you to bring photos of looks you may like). At our bridal makeup trial session / consultation I will go over proper techniques used to produce photo perfect makeup for the most cherished day of your life. These photos will be looked upon for generations to come!

This is a one-on-one focused session with your Makeup Artist to discuss YOUR desires, wants, and needs to produce exactly what you envision. The photos on display may NOT depict your personal style of makeup, but I explain my method as such; Makeup is about continuous application (Building) until we (The client and makeup artist) achieve the perfect look. Now, I do mean applying makeup and then removing, that is not what I consider professional. What I consider appropriate is building makeup by applying it in stages. At each stage I will have you view yourself under studio lighting, and at that point, you will determine weather you are satisfied, or weather your would like to take it up a notch! We can keep 'taking it up' until we achieve the look you desire. Most brides have a vision of the look they would like to achieve, but at any point you may choose to hand over the decisions to me-the makeup artist. Whatever you may decide,  I will always do my best to direct you along the way with my professionalism and experience.

A full makeup application will determine your desired look, colors, etc. (The day of your wedding is no time to experiment on your look!) We will have a signature look to be recreated the day of your wedding.

Application of False Eye Lashes (if desired) should be applied during the trial. If you’re not sure if you’ll be wearing False Eyelashes or you’ve never worn them and are thinking about wearing them for the wedding, this is a must during your trial. Do not wait until your wedding day to make that decision. They are NOT for everyone! I also offer eyelash 'singles'  that will enhance but not over power the eyes. Singles provide a soft lift to the look of the eye.

The consultation is a good time to discuss a pre-wedding day skin care regime, and the reason I suggest booking a trial a minimum of 8 weeks in advance. We need to prepare your skin to look and feel its best. Proper skin preparation is the one of the key components to obtaining that flawless elegant look.  (You may want to take notes)

The consultation is also a good time to prepare a touch-up bag for you on your Wedding day or Wedding + Honeymoon (Full Face Makeup Bag) with the essential touch-up and cosmetic products. Together we will go over exactly what you need.

Digital Photo of your trial makeup is offered, but not required. This will give your the opportunity to show friends and family, or for your own personal viewing and reference

Tips For Coming Prepared For Your Bridal Makeup Trial:

Come to the Trial Consultation and wedding day with a clean face, free of makeup. From there I will prep your skin!

Bridal Skincare: I can't stress enough how important this is!  Start your pre-wedding day skincare regime at least 90 days before your wedding. You want to make sure your skin does not have an adverse reaction to any new products introduced. We can include that in your trial or you may choose to have a separate skin consultation.

DO NOT have your face or brows waxed the week of your trial makeup (If possible) or more importantly your wedding; Makeup will not blend or stick to your skin evenly.
